CPR Training

Posted by cmacgearailt0161 on 30th May 2018

On Tuesday May 22nd a nurse from the Bons Hospital in Tralee came in to teach us CPR. They were also shown how to use an AED. The class was very interesting. It was very important that we know how to do CPR and use an AED. We watched a video showing us what to do in an emergency. We practiced doing CPR on dummies. Finally we got to use a real AED. I really enjoyed it and I think everyone should know how to do CPR, it might save someone’s life.

On Wednesday, May 23rd the girls from 6th to 3rd played in a Mid-Kerry Blitz in Beaufort. We played against Carraghlake, Kilgobnait, Milltown and finally Glenbeigh in the semi-final. This year we were in the 4-5 techer school competition and we came third. We won two of our games against Milltown and Kilgobnait and lost two of our games against Glenbeigh and Carraghlake. In all the games the score was quite close.

Girls Blitz

Posted by cmacgearailt0161 on 21st May 2018

On Wednesday the 16th of May, the girls from 3rd to 6th class went to Killorglin for primary schools blitz. I was in goals and our starting team was some of 4th and all of 5th and 6th. We played well but unfortunately lost our first two matches but successfully won our other two. Tirna Murphy was injured but still managed to play. We were happy to win our games but it would have been nice to win them all.

On May the 15th, three girls from sixth class went to a three aside skills competition. The three girls from sixth class were Ava Meikle, Maire Chau and Tirna Murphy. It was a very fun experience for the girls. We got 31 points out of 50 in the group scoring and in the solo scoring, Tirna Murphy got 20 out of 24. She came second out of everyone there. She lost by a point.

Europe day

Posted by cmacgearailt0161 on 18th May 2018

On May 9th 2018 it was Europe day. We celebrated it in class and after our lunch we went out into the yard. Everyone had a flag or a year to hold. The people who were holding the years stood in a line and the countries who joined the EU that year lined up behind them. We dressed up and brought in food from different countries. Lots of people brought in pasta. Some people brought in pain au chocolat and potato pancakes.
