On Thursday 10th of September Ray Gasdsken came in to do rugby with us. It was just that one day,but it was fun. Everyone enjoyed the Rugby. Hopefully he can come again to teach us how to play Rugby. He would teach us all the rules and methods of tag rugby. All the classes enjoyed it.

We are delighted to be able to say that we were successful in renewing our Active Flag. This means we are the first school in Kerry to achieve this feat! Well done to all for your help and participation.

Active School Week 2015 once again proved to be a great success. The events took place for an hour each day for the entire week. Activities included Athletics (Sprinting / Hurdles), Novelty Games (Sack, Wheelbarrow, Egg & Spoon and 3 Legged races), Novelty Relays (water, dress up & obstacle course), Orienteering (Star Course & Control Card Hunt) and Team Games (Basketball, Football & Rounders)

Active School Assessor
On Tuesday March 10th we had a visit from an active schools assessor. She came to school to see if we could get our second active school flag. We had a lot of activities set up for the day. The activities include cricket, bean bag toss, skies, football, basketball and soccer. My favourite activity was soccer, football and basketball. On Friday we have football free fridays when we do basketball and hockey. We all hope that we get our second active school flag.

Girl’s Mini Seven’s
On Friday the 20th of March the girls from Castledrum and Fybough went to the girl’s mini sevens in Cromane. Mr Mac Gearailt and Miss Lovette went with us. When we got to Cromane the teacher told us who was playing first. The team for the first match was Holly, Dearbhla, Ellie, Brid-ann, Eleanor, Liath and Moira. The teachers gave everyone a chance to play. We won our first game and were through to the quarter final. After that we lost our second game. We had a rest before our big game. Unfortunately we lost our quater final and we had to go home. We all had a great time.

Boys Mini Sevens
This year for the mini sevens we went on our own. We had no luck in our first game but we played very good in the first half of the game. We had Mark in goals who did very well because he is in 3rd class. We had a bit more luck in the second game when Cathal played his heart out and nearly won the game for us. We were out of school for the day but we came home with nothing.
